Repairs
Whereas we strive to do the best job we can, from time to time a repair or adjustment may be needed. If a repair on our gutter installation is needed we will makes these repairs within a reasonable period of time. Repairs on our gutter installations that are covered under our warranty are completed at no charge.
The main cause of customer complaints is the gutters overflowing due to debris in the gutter. Chattahoochee Gutter Co., Inc. is not responsible for general maintenance, inspections, and cleaning of gutters. There will be a charge if a service call is made and we find that the reported problem is due to customer neglect such as clogging caused by leaves or debris.
We also do repairs on existing gutter systems installed by other companies based on a free estimate.
Rain gutters are not designed to make a water tight seal against the fascia board. Water running between the gutter and fascia board or behind the fascia board is usually caused by one of the following:
-
Short, broken or old curled-under shingles causing the water to wick back onto the fascia board.
-
Pockets in roof shingles caused by the top of the fascia board being higher than the roof decking, allowing the water to track between the shingles and down behind the fascia board. This may cause rotting of the roof decking, rafter ends, fascia board, or eave overhang.
-
Water problems may also be caused by faulty or missing flashing around chimneys, vent stacks, and wall flashing among others.
These cases are not caused by our gutter system and therefore are not covered under our warranty. The remedy for these situations is to install eave metal flashing. Please click here for more information about eave metal flashing.
The front of our gutter is designed to be ½” shorter than the back, causing the water to flow over the front of the gutter if the gutter becomes clogged. This prevents water from flowing over the back of the gutter.

Gutter Clean out
Clogged gutters can cause the following problems:
-
Water splashing against the house at the ground level causing staining and water damage
-
Damage to door and window sills
-
Landscape erosion - Flower beds and plants being damaged by overflowing water
-
Overflowing water that sits and pools at ground level
-
Mold/Mildew in Basements and Wall Spaces
-
Cracked foundations
-
Insect infestation
-
Gutter can sag or fall off of houses due to the weight from the combination of leaves, debris and water if the rafters are old, split or rotting.
For these reasons, it is important for gutters to be clear of debris so water can be free-flowing. Cleaning gutters can be an awkward and dangerous situation. It can be time consuming and difficult to balance on a ladder while holding a bucket and reaching for debris inside gutter. This can be a frequent chore depending on the number of trees around your house. It is safer to have a trained professional with the proper equipment clean the gutters and downspouts for you.
We will clean out gutter systems, including downspouts, upon request for a fee to be determined based on the amount of gutter and its height above the ground. Please see our Gutter Helmet® product to Never Clean Your Gutters Again®. We provide a free, final clean out upon purchase of the Gutter Helmet® system. Our clean out includes bagging the debris and removing it from the job site.
