Flashing
The purpose of flashing
is to keep water from going onto or into an area where
it could cause problems or damage to your home. There are
different types of flashing used for various concerns.
We offer the following types of flashing:
Eave
Metal Flashing
One of the most important
components of a gutter system is eave metal flashing. Irregular
shingle and roof situations are the major cause of water
damage to fascia boards and eaves. Eave flashing is the answer.
Flashing is a strip of aluminum that is formed to the roof
angle that we install under the shingles & turns down
over the inside back of the gutter providing a positive water
flow from roof to gutter. We recommend flashing be used with
all gutter installations. We can use flashing that is already
installed on the house or we can make and install it new.
Flashing prevents water from wicking back to the fascia board
and behind the gutter in situations where shingles are broken,
too short, or curled under. Our warranty does not cover water
running behind the gutter where there is no eave metal flashing.

Valley Flashing
A “V” shaped metal placed
where two roofs meet at an angle forming a valley. It is
put down on the joint of the roof and shingles are placed
over the edges of it. Its purpose is to keep water from
seeping through the joint where the two roofs meet.
Wall Flashing
An “L” shaped piece of metal
in varying lengths that is placed where a roof and an upper
story wall of a house meet. The roof shingles are laid over
the bottom edge of the wall flashing thereby keeping water
from seeping into the wall of the house.
